OBD Inspections
(2014 and newer)

We plug into your truck’s onboard diagnostics system.

No check engine light must be on or recently cleared (within 5–7 days), or the system will fail or show as “Not Ready.”

Instant submission to CARB through your Clean Truck Check account.
OVI Inspections
(2013 and older,
2012 engine or older)
Visual Inspection of:

Engine and emission control labels.
-
DEF system, sensors, and wiring.
Opacity Test (Smoke Test)

Truck must be warmed up.

2011–2013: Must stay below 5% opacity.

Older trucks may qualify with special permission.
TRUCRS-Approved
Older Trucks
Still have a pre-2000s workhorse? You might qualify to keep it:
Example: 1996 Ford F-450 running under TRUCRS approval

Must drive under 1,000 miles/year.

Still requires an OVI Inspection and manual submission.
